The Progressive Era was a time period between the 1890's to the 1920's which saw widespread social activism and political reforms across the United States. Progressive movements aimed at eliminating problems caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration, and political/economic corruption in government from the Gilded Age; as well as advancing women and minority rights.
