In my opinion the American dream is dead , because before Trump became the president people were coming to the united states to have a better life. Now that he is the president people has lost hope in the american dream.

Why do you think small businesses are struggling? You may want to look up U.S. employment rates and wage growth (considering inflation) throughout the last few decades.

In my perspective, i believe the "American Dream" is dead for the reason being that our current president, Donald Trump, has now ruined the dreams of all the people who came to the United States to pursue their dreams which is to have their career and have a better life.Trump has ruined their dream, by taking away their benefits and rights. He had withdraw the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

You have a strong opinion but always support it with specific evidence/data. What specific rights and benefits has he rescinded? The end of the DACA is a good point to your argument and I wish you would have explained it a little more.

The american dream is alive because we still have many opportunities to learn new things, invent new inventions, and contribute to help our community. The american dream is different in every ones eyes, but I believe the american dream is alive in each of us who wish to move forward and make a contribution to the place we work and to those we love. It is what we make of it. If you don't want to do anything with your life and give up before you even graduate high school then your american dream is dead, but if you want it to be alive you must work hard and persevere.

No, I do not believe the American Dream is dead. The definition of the American Dream is the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. The American Dream has never been dead and honestly it will never die. There are more and more entrepreneurs and businesses being created and established. Majority of American Citizens are struggling, but they are not giving up hope of getting a better life or job to support themselves and their family. Others have already fulfilled their American Dream even if it was given to them or they earned it. I believe like I said earlier that the American Dream is still alive and growing.

Great response, Mary. You analyzed the American Dream and articulately explained your argument. I'm glad that you mentioned how we are able to become entrepreneurs and establish our own businesses. Offer specific examples/data to enhance your argument.

To me the American dream is dead because people were coming to America to have a better life, but when Donald Trump became president everything changed and the American Dream faded away. Because the American Dream means the US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.

i think the dream has died along time ago there will never be peace or liberty in america because nothing will come to a conclusion unless theirs conflict for example trump and Kim (america and north Korea) will never come to an agreement unless there war and after that it still wouldn't be peace because of the damage it has cause

Why do believe there will never be peace and liberty in America? This statement can be debated (for example, we have the Bill of Rights that protects our individual rights). Always back up your argument with specific evidence/data.

In my opinion, the "American Dream" is not dead, and I think that people can still make it work even though there are hard obstacles in the way.

I would rather live on a Capitalism because if another country tries to invade us and we have a poor community then most likely we will get invaded. But if we have a strong army we might win that war.
